Remi is one of 26 severely neglected horses that were
turned over to the Central Illinois Horse Rescue in
Roodhouse, IL. Sadly, these were the lucky ones.
Nearly a dozen other horses were found on the property
already dead.
This poor boy came to us completely emaciated, lacking
any body fat and muscle. In addition, he arrived with a
horrific lice infestation that has left him with huge bald
patches over his body.
He has a loooong way to go, but his initial blood work
came back good. We are treating the lice, and slowly
getting him on a good feed program. He is a stud, but
will be gelded as soon as we think he's healthy enough
to handle the surgery.

| Flapjack Fundraiser! Pancakes with a Purpose |
Thanks to all who came out for our 2nd annual
Flapjack Fundraiser! Once again it was a huge
success and we had a lot of fun. A special thank
you goes to Applebee's for hosting the event and to
our volunteers for making it all happen. We hope
to see everyone back again next winter!
