programs are offered free of charge to anyone who needs them! Refuge
receives no government funding or assistance. We are funded entirely by

In Kind Donations:
In kind donations are all other donations that
are not a monetary gift. Refuge accepts such
items as used tack, gift cards, building
supplies for projects, etc. If you would like to
make an in kind donation, feel free to contact
us and set up a time to deliver your gift and
maybe even take a quick tour of the farm!
Here is our Wish List!
Equine:
- Fly Spray, Fly Spray, Fly Spray
(We also need fly masks and fly
boots on a pretty regular basis.)
- Hay (Grass or Alfalfa/Grass mix)
As the cost of hay continues to
rise, it becomes more and more
difficult to feed horses. More and
more horses are being starved or
abandoned because their owners
cannot afford hay. We can only
take on as many horses as we
can feed, and that is related
directly to the amount of hay we
are able to purchase.
- New or Used Tack We can
always accept new and used
tack. What we cannot use here at
Refuge is sold to benefit the
operation of the farm.
- Grooming supplies (curry combs,
brushes, and hoof picks.
- Dewormer
Participants
- Boots We are always in need of
women’s and children’s boots in
all sizes.
- Drinks & Snacks Prepackaged
drinks and snacks for the kids are
welcomed. Particularly freeze
pops and bottled water!
- Coffee & Hot Chocolate
- Helmets Helmets are an
absolute must for the safety of
participants. Due to liability and
safety guidelines, we cannot
accept used helmets. All helmets
must be new and meet current
ASTM/SEI certification standards.
Equestrian helmets are designed
specifically for the type of injury
which is most likely to occur when
riding horses, so unfortunately
bike helmets are not appropriate.

Big R, Farm & Home, or Menards

Prayer
Truly, the greatest gift that anyone can give . . . is to simply pray for us. Prayer
costs us nothing but a few moments of our time, it is something that everyone can
give and it is unquestionably the one of the most powerful things that we can do for
each other. The facilities, children, and horses are in constant need of protection,
wisdom, and direction. Those who choose to lift us up in prayer are an incredible
gift to us and the children and horses we serve.
Cash Donations
Although for participants and visitors the ranch is free of charge, running and
maintaining such a facility is quite costly. All cash donations are greatly
appreciated.
If I make a donation, where does it go?
Unless otherwise designated by the giver, all monetary donations go into the
general operating fund. These funds are used to pay for program expenses, ranch
maintenance and horse care.
Are donations Tax-deductible?
Refuge Ranch is a 501(c)3 non profit organization and as such we can supply tax
receipts for all donations that include but are not limited to: monetary donations,
horse tack, ranch equipment, feed, land, building supplies, horses, etc.
Contribution statements are sent out quarterly.
Can I donate my tack and/or horse equipment?
As Refuge Ranch is just getting started, we are in need of tack and equipment.
We are asking those who would like to donate tack to ship it to our address or
contact the ranch to set up a drop off time. We also want donors to be aware that
if we are unable to use tack, we will find a good home for it or sell it to raise funds
for the ranch. Many individuals may prefer to sell tack themselves and donate part
of the proceeds to the ranch - we will gladly accept that also.
