Welcome to the home of Refuge Ranch, a 501c3 non-profit
organization located in central Illinois, just south of the state
capital Springfield.
At Refuge our prayer is that hurting people will find hope,
safety, and unconditional love here. Children desperately
need a place to run, play, make noise, and simply be kids.
Adults are longing for a place of rest and reprieve from busy
schedules and chaotic lives. We simply desire to be a place of
refuge for anyone who needs shelter from the storm.
Take the opportunity here to learn more
about our Horsemanship Program, to
see our facilities, to find out what
opportunities exist for you, and to ask
questions!
Feel free to contact us. We would love
to hear from you!
Refuge provides many opportunities for
teaching life-lessons to our participants
including:
- Anger Management
- Patience
- Perseverance
- Hard Work
- Stewardship
These life skills are a natural by-product when a
participant chooses to invest in the effort to
maintain a farm and rehabilitate an abused or
neglected animal. The one on one
relationships between our program participants
and our volunteers provide a very natural
opportunity for mentoring and growth.
The Lord is our Refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

We wanted to give a shout out to our wonderful
farrier, Steve Hedges. If you are in the central
area, we don't believe there is a better choice out
there!
Steve is also the owner and instructor of the
Midwest Horseshoeing School
Thanks for all you do for Refuge, Steve!
